Academy

A letter of acceptance from Marian Elina-Blanche Anderson. It was featured in a group of five letters marking
a past Women’s History Month at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.

Ah, cursive handwriting.

I have a neighbor who writes cursive beautifully. It is a joy to receive a card from her.

Marian Anderson wrote cursive beautifully too. This is not noted in the plea
by Western Connecticut State University “to name the School of Visual and Performing Arts in honor of the legendary Marian Anderson.” Nowhere in the sidebar about Marian Anderson’s life is a mention of her handwriting.

Do you see how the y in Academy looks like a person leaning against a wall with one knee bent? I like it.
